ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor patients requiring intensive care and respond to critical situations.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive drips and manage arterial lines.
• Support rapid response teams and utilize IV insulin and blood product protocols.
• Perform EKG monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry duties.
• Handle various procedures including central and peripheral line management, chest tube care, and non-invasive airway management.
• Maintain awareness of isolation precautions and patient safety protocols.
• Document patient care accurately in accordance with unit systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU or similar unit.
• First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome to apply.
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH.
• Proficient in EKG interpretation and conscious sedation.
• Experience in managing patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and post-operative complications.
• Strong capability to recognize and respond to dysrhythmias.

Shift Information

• 12-hour night shifts available.
• Rotating weekend responsibilities (every other weekend).
• Floating to sister units may be required.

Unit Details

• Target nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3-4.
• Patient age group spans adolescent to geriatric.
• Unit utilized bedside telemetry monitoring with specialized equipment for critical care.

Additional Information

All candidates must complete unit orientation and pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. Maximum request time off (RTO) is 7 days. Note: Block scheduling is not available.
