Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role requires a willingness to float between multiple Med/Surg Telemetry units within the organization. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and monitoring in various settings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac patients with telemetry equipment, interpreting telemetry strips every four hours.
• Administer cardiac drips and provide necessary medication management.
• Float between various clinical units, including emergency department and acute care settings as needed.
• Provide care for patients in a variety of scenarios, including ED border patients and non-vented ICU patients.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a traveler in various healthcare settings.

Skill Sets Required

• Telemetry monitoring with proficiency in measuring intervals and reading strips.
• Experience with TR Band application and monitoring.
• Ability to perform tasks related to cardiac drips and patient management.

Patient Population

In this role, you will care for various patient populations, including those in emergency situations, acute mental health conditions, and non-vented patients in transition from the ICU.

Clinical Environment

• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 5:1 during day and evening shifts; up to 6:1 during night shifts.
• Bed Count: 371 beds available across various units.
• Unit Census: Each unit encompasses 8 to 41 beds.

Rotation Requirements

Expected to rotate between day, evening, and night shifts, with 1 to 3 rotations to night shifts per contract.

Certifications Required

• Active RN License in Massachusetts.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• AHA ACLS certification is preferred.
