Job Summary

The PACU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. This role involves monitoring patients’ vital signs, assessing their recovery progress, and managing any post-operative complications.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and recovery status post-surgery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Provide patient education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document all assessments, care provided, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current registered nursing license valid in the state of practice.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Additional certifications such as DCI/BVP preferred.
• Previous experience in a PACU or surgical recovery setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
