Respiratory Therapist
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various respiratory care settings, particularly in adult critical care.
Position Details
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; subject to change as needed
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Floating: May be required to float to other units as necessary while maintaining qualifications and competencies.
Call Off Policy
The facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks as operational needs dictate.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Must have an active RRT SC (Registered Respiratory Therapist) license.
- Certifications: Current certifications in ACLS and BLS are required.
- Patient Population: Experience working with adult and geriatric patients is essential.
Required Skills
- Proficient in adult critical care work settings.
- Experience in extubation, nasal airway placements, suctioning, and oral airway placement.
- Skilled in pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care.
- Experience administering respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, and others.
- Ability to deliver medication through various aerosol setups and nebulizers.
- Familiarity with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy.
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
- 1 year of EPIC experience required for charting purposes.
- Must have trauma level 1 experience.
