Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in providing high-quality care for patients on the cardiac floor, ensuring their safety and comfort during recovery and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cardiac telemetry patients, providing critical assessments and interventions as necessary.
• Perform sheath removals and manage cardiac drips, including titration as needed.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and provide post-myocardial infarction (MI) care.
• Assist in pre and post-cardiac catheterization procedures and manage external CPAP/BIPAP as well as non-invasive airway management.
• Utilize special equipment such as arterial lines, Doppler, and EKG for patient care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Adhere to all safety and quality protocols during patient care and within the unit environment.

• Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
• Aortic Stenosis/Regurgitation
• Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis
• Endocarditis
• Cardiomyopathy
• Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
• Carotid Stenosis

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required.
• Traveler experience preferred, unless the candidate has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
• Preferred skills include arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, and charge experience.

Shift Details

• Night shifts: 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13-26 weeks accepted.
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekends per 4-week period, flexible schedule.

Unit Standards

• Patient ratios vary per acuity: 1:4 for surgical stepdown, 1:5-6 for lower acuity.
• Unit requires assignment to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events.
• Orientation: 24 hours.
• Scrubs: Navy.
