Clinical Trials Pharmacist – Non-Oncology

Job Description

The Clinical Trials Pharmacy (CTP) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Trials Pharmacist to join our team. This role involves working closely with the CTP team to ensure safe and effective pharmaceutical care in support of research groups and investigators engaged in human subject research.

Hours

• Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM
• Possible earlier start and later finish, not exceeding 5:30 PM
• No weekends or major holidays; minor holiday coverage may be necessary

Responsibilities

• Dispense research medication to subjects enrolled in clinical trials.
• Ensure medication orders comply with approved protocols.
• Review protocol documents and draft dispensing instructions.
• Oversee the safe handling and preparation of investigational sterile and non-sterile medications.
• Supervise technician activities and perform quality control checks.
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals.
• Participate in sponsor monitoring visits and audits.
• Review new protocols and amendments for drug safety and feasibility.
• Promote a culture of safety and adhere to established department practices and policies.
• Act as a liaison between CTP and compounding, as well as other areas within the pharmacy department.
• Review patient medications for appropriateness and potential drug interactions.
• Comply with state and federal laws relevant to pharmacy and investigational drug use.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing is required.
