Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in a Med/Surg/PCU setting. The ideal candidate must be adaptable and willing to work across various departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patient and significant others’ needs for education and provide appropriate education materials.
• Implement preventative measures for patient safety, including the correct use of side rails and restraints, and adherence to restraint policies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation and troubleshooting of all equipment in the PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas.
• Follow infection control and isolation procedures with proper documentation.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts.
• Ensure accuracy in the completion of physician’s orders in a timely manner.
• Conduct a 24-hour check of orders, if applicable, during assigned shifts.
• Provide comprehensive and accurate change-of-shift reports to oncoming staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments.
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly according to established policies.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts and general supplies.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Shift Information

This position requires night shifts and holiday coverage.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in MedSurg/PCU.
• Active Washington nursing license.
• Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications.
• Willingness to work through the holiday season with minimal requests for time off.
