Pharmacist

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our inpatient pharmacy department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting all inpatient operations and ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the healthcare setting.

Position Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 7 days a week
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirements: Night and weekend call will be required on a rotating schedule

Responsibilities

The Pharmacist will be responsible for the following:

• Compounding and verifying medication orders
• Performing order entry and medication verification in the inpatient setting
• Supervising pharmacy technicians
• Ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations and policies
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management
• Participating in departmental orientations and training sessions

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an inpatient pharmacy setting required
• Certifications: Current Michigan pharmacist and controlled substance license required; BLS certification (AHA) required
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Paragon and Pyxis systems is preferred
  • Knowledge of medications used in an inpatient setting

Schedule

The work schedule will consist of a rotating shift every 3 weeks, including one week of call and one weekend of coverage. Pharmacists will also be required to work every third weekend.

Dress Code

Casual attire or scrubs are acceptable; scrubs will be provided.

Orientation and Training

Department-specific orientation will be conducted by the pharmacy manager. Candidates should be prepared for 1 to 2 weeks of training as part of the onboarding process.
