Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Unit

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Neuro Unit. The role requires a team-oriented approach focused on patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a neuro-focused environment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of care strategies.
• Utilize effective communication strategies, including SBAR for handoffs.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC.
• Work under a patient ratio of 1:6, ensuring high-quality care.
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed.
• Adhere to all safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is preferred.
• Neuro experience is preferred but not required; first-time travelers are welcome.
• Willingness to learn charge nurse responsibilities is an asset.

Additional Information

• Shift: Nights (4×12 Hours)
• Contract lengths of 13 to 20 weeks are accepted.
• Maximum allowable RTO is 7 days for AYA auto offers.
• Weekend commitment of 5-6 shifts is expected, typically every other weekend.
• Required to work in Storm or Hurricane Teams as needed during emergencies.
• Orientation for new staff will be 24 hours.
• Scrubs required: Navy Blue (not provided).
