Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care across various Med/Surg Telemetry units. This position requires flexibility and a strong commitment to patient care, as the RN will float between multiple units within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cardiac monitoring, manage cardiac drips, and interpret telemetry strips.
• Provide patient care within Med/Surg Tele areas, including emergency department overflow and acute mental health units.
• Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of up to 5:1 during Day and Evening shifts, and up to 6:1 during Night shifts.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience.
• 2 years of travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in telemetry monitoring, including measuring intervals and interpreting telemetry strips every 4 hours.
• Knowledge and experience in managing cardiac drips.
• Current Massachusetts RN License is required.
• Active certifications in AHA BLS and ACLS are necessary.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to different units as needed.
• Rotation between Day, Evening, and Night shifts is required, with schedules rotating every one to three weeks.
• Free on-site parking is available.

Patient Population

The RN will care for various patient demographics, including those in critical care and mental health settings, focusing on non-vented patients ready for transfer from the ICU.
