ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit and a strong ability to provide critical care to a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting.
• Monitor and interpret patient telemetry data, ensuring immediate response to any abnormalities.
• Manage complex patient cases, including those with diagnoses such as substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including attendings and residents, who are present 24/7 in the unit.
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing an appropriate patient load.

Qualifications

• Active RN License in Massachusetts.
• Two or more years of continuous experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit.
• Ability to read telemetry strips and demonstrated telemetry competency.
• Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights as needed.
• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Med/Surg areas.

Work Environment

The position involves working in a Level III Trauma Center within a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU. The facility is equipped to handle a wide range of medical emergencies and critical care scenarios.
