ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse for a dynamic and challenging environment. This role involves providing exceptional care to a diverse adult patient population within a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). The MICU consists of 20 beds and caters to patients with a range of critical conditions, including but not limited to substance abuse, severe psychiatric disorders, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips to assess patient conditions.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents present in the unit 24 hours a day.
• Float to medical and surgical units as needed, providing care to 4 to 5 patients.
• Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity patients.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records using the EPIC charting system.
• Adhere to all relevant protocols and policies of the unit.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
• Two (2) years of continuous experience in an adult ICU, preferably within a MICU setting.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Proficient in telemetry competency with the ability to read telemetry strips.
• Ability to work shift rotations as required, including night shifts and weekends.
