Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Telemetry

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Telemetry. The role involves working in a fast-paced medical telemetry unit, handling patients with various diagnoses and conditions while providing critical care nursing services.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Weekend coverage: Every other weekend, with possible adjustments based on unit needs

Unit Information

The Medical Telemetry unit manages patients requiring monitoring and treatment for:

• Increased oxygen demands
• Dialysis Patients
• Atrial Fibrillation (Afib)
• Post Heart Catheterization

Special procedures for this unit include the step-down care from ICU, with patients not requiring ventilator or pressor support. The unit can manage various drips such as:

• Heparin
• Cardizem
• Amiodarone
• Sotalol initiation

Qualifications

Applicants must possess the following credentials:

• Active RN License in Tennessee
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system is required, with a minimum of one year’s proficiency preferred. First-time travelers will be evaluated based on their overall nursing experience.

Additional Information

Floating to like units may be needed based on staffing requirements. Candidates should be prepared to adapt to the dynamic needs of the unit and provide high-quality patient care.
