Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Job Details

• Target Ratios: 1:5-6
• Shift: 12-hour Days; 36 or 48 hours accepted
• Contract Length: 13-20 weeks
• Orientation: 24-hour unit orientation; hospital orientation in the first week with classes each day
• Required Floating: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: 12-16 shifts per contract
• RTO Policy: Maximum 7 days of RTO; requests after booking not allowed
• Special Requirements: Must report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing
• Proficient in IV insulin protocols, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis
• Ability to manage blood product administration, central/peripheral line care, and phlebotomy
• Familiarity with rapid response teams and the interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Holding a BCLS certification

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with EPIC and accessing ports
• Understanding of insulin management, CVA, and surgical drains
• Ability to interpret ABGs and manage tracheostomy care

Patient Population

Common patient diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fractures. The unit also includes isolation areas for COVID patients.
