Central Sterile Technician

Job Description

The Central Sterile Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly sterilized and ready for use. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Process and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and manage the workflow within the sterile processing department.
• Assist in the preparation and assembly of surgical instruments for various procedures.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with sterilization standards.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic understanding of sterilization methods and infection control practices.

Schedule

This position requires evening and night shifts. Specific shift hours are from 3 PM to 11:30 PM.
