Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry for an exciting opportunity. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple patient care tasks effectively.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant clinical setting.
• Accepts first-time travelers.
• Skills include:
• Medical/Surgical care
• Telemetry remote monitoring
• Use of Rapid Response Team
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• IV insulin protocols
• Colostomy care and feeding tube management
• Pre/Post hemodialysis management
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draw and peripheral line management
• Phlebotomy and PICC line management
• Starting IVs, Heparin, PCA administration
• Chest tube management and non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen therapy and wound care
• Certifications: BCLS

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience in MS/Telemetry and management of dysrhythmias.
• Telemetry—a strong understanding of monitoring and accessing ports.
• Additional competencies in managing insulin, CVA, surgical drains, and interpreting ABGs.
• Experience with EPIC documentation system.

Job Details

• Patient Care Ratios: 1:5-6
• Shifts: 12-hour days; 36 or 48 hours accepted.
• Contract lengths: 13-26 weeks.
• Contract staff may be required to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters.
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days.
• Floating to other units is required.
• Weekend work is expected: 12-16 shifts per contract.

Unit Information

The work environment includes an isolation area for COVID-19 patients and multi-level care including stepdown, managed by dedicated staff.

Orientation and Training

• Unit Orientation: 24 hours
• Hospital Orientation: Required during the first week; participation in daily classes is mandatory.

Uniform Requirements

Scrubs should be navy and white.
