Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical – Neuro

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a dynamic role within a neuro surgical and medical unit. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive patient care for individuals undergoing neuro surgical procedures and addressing various neuro diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage patient care with a ratio of 1:5-6.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
• Document patient progress and care using EPIC and SBAR communication tools.
• Be prepared to participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments as necessary.
• Report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
• May require float assignments to different units based on facility needs.

Scheduling and Orientation

• Shifts: Night shifts, 3×12-hour schedule with hours from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Contract length of 13-26 weeks is available.
• Two orientation shifts on the unit after initial hospital-based orientation.
• Weekend requirements of 12-16 shifts per contract; flexibility in scheduling available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar specialty.
• Current BCLS certification required; NIH certification preferred.
• Neuro experience is preferred for optimal patient care delivery.
• Pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty role.

Additional Information

The RN will be expected to wear navy scrubs while on duty.
