Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both Adult Critical Care and NICU settings and will be responsible for a variety of critical patient care activities.

- Shift: Night 4×12-Hour (18:30 – 07:00)

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU
- Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment
- BLS Certification
- CRT Certification
- MD State Licensure
- ED experience preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
The selected traveler will perform duties that include, but are not limited to:
- Airway management and device utilization
- Suctioning and extubation procedures
- Nasal and oral airway placements
- Conducting pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
- Analyzing and interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Assisting in high-risk deliveries
- Utilizing ventilators (Draeger V500 and Servo U)
Skills Required for Success
- Proficiency with airway management devices and suctioning techniques
- Knowledge of various medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and Mucomyst
- Experience with nebulizers, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Familiarity with troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs
- Proficient with Cerner electronic health records
- Preferred skills: Bronchoscopy, Inhaled Flolan, Nitric Oxide (INo), Theophylline
Facility Information
This position is within a short-term acute care facility that also serves as a teaching hospital and is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals. The facility is equipped with 338 total staffed beds and utilizes Cerner for charting. Scrubs are not provided; standard scrubs color is ceil blue.
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination is required for all employees.
- Every other weekend availability is required, with holiday coverage expected.
- Float between Adult and NICU units may be necessary.
