Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide medical-surgical level care to patients aged 18 and over. The role requires flexibility in working various shift lengths and days, with no guarantee of hours or shift preferences. Candidates must possess or obtain an active Hawaii nursing license prior to the start of the assignment.

Contract Details

• Duration: 13-week contract
• Scheduled hours: 36 hours per week following the first full week of orientation
• Various shift lengths and days required
• No holiday time-off requests will be accepted

General Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to medical-surgical patients
• Potential to float to surgical pediatric or transitional care units as needed

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech EMR
• Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Wound vacs
• Chest tubes

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical or higher level of care
• Required certifications: BLS
• Preferred certification: ACLS

Unit Information

• Total bed size: 50 beds
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:5

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required, with no specific scrub colors mandated. Closed-toe shoes must be worn.

Orientation Program

An orientation program specific to the department is included during the first week of employment.
