Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to float across various pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, pediatric PACU, pediatric emergency department boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby. Successful candidates will have robust experience in critical care settings with a focus on pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Float to multiple pediatric units as needed, providing high-quality nursing care to patients.
• Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
• Document patient care activities using Epic electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

• Two years of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is required.
• NICU experience necessary; candidates with previous NICU/PICU float pool experience will be considered.
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS are required.
• Pediatric PACU experience is highly preferred.
• Certification in Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding is required but can be submitted as pending (fees may apply).
• Must adhere to the organization’s float policy.
• VA nursing license can be submitted with pending status.

Schedule and Commitment:

• This is a night shift position with the option of 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed.
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Time off approval available for up to 40 hours; no requests for time off can be approved during the first two weeks of the assignment.
