Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a float pool position that requires expertise in various pediatric units. The role involves floating to multiple areas, including Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Pediatric Emergency Department boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in multiple pediatric units, adapting to different environments and patient needs.
• Utilize advanced clinical skills and judgment in managing critically ill patients in the PICU and NICU.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care for pediatric patients.
• Adhere to established protocols and float policies while working across various units.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain competencies in pediatric nursing practices.

Shift Details

• Nights
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week duration
• Every other weekend and holiday commitment

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in PICU required.
• Experience in NICU is essential.
• Previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU is preferred.
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Experience in Pediatric PACU is highly preferred.
• Dr. Brown’s Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required but may be submitted pending completion.
• Must have Epic experience.
• Ability to accept a Virginia nursing license pending submission.

Note: Block scheduling cannot be accommodated, and the first two weeks of assignments are not eligible for time off requests.
