Registered Nurse – Pacemaker Electrophysiology (RN)

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse – Pacemaker Electrophysiology provides assistance to clinic providers and support staff in delivering and coordinating patient care. This role emphasizes patient satisfaction, clinic efficiency, and provider productivity. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while fostering collaborative relationships with other healthcare team members. The RN will also facilitate patient and family education in line with the Nurse Practices Act and state regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• One (1) year of registered nursing experience.
• International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification.
• Experience managing cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs).
• Familiarity with device platforms from major manufacturers, including Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott (formerly St. Jude Medical), and Boston Scientific.
• Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) interpretation.

Essential Job Functions:

• Interrogate cardiac implantable electronic devices, monitor and document patient responses to device therapy and programming changes, and adjust device settings as per provider orders.
• Manage remote device monitoring and troubleshoot device-related concerns.
• Coordinate follow-up care for patients through the Device Clinic.
• Maintain device clinic databases and patient records to ensure accurate documentation and continuity of care.
• Perform diagnostic tests and treatments as ordered by the provider, including electrocardiograms (EKGs), event monitors, Holter monitors, and Zio Patch application, removal, and data processing.
• Schedule surgical and procedural interventions related to cardiac implantable electronic devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients undergoing MRI studies, surgical procedures, or other interventions related to cardiac devices.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination and treatment rooms, including appropriate stocking of supplies and equipment.
• Assess and coordinate care for walk-in and urgent patient needs within the clinic.
• Educate patients and families on cardiac implantable electronic devices and related procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts to support effective patient care.

Schedule Requirements:

This role requires regular attendance and may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
