Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

This position involves providing outpatient services for both adults and pediatric patients. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will primarily focus on evaluations and treatments that enhance patients’ functional abilities. The clinician must maintain professionalism, uphold patient confidentiality, and embody the quality standards outlined in established service excellence guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations to establish therapy diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Implement and supervise therapy plans, modifying them as needed based on patient feedback.
• Review clinical records and attend care conferences to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Document patient encounters, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records for continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families on therapy exercises, activities, and home programs to promote independence.
• Provide services in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home evaluations.
• Participate in community service initiatives, offering therapy and health promotion programs.
• Assist in administrative duties, including maintaining clinical space and supplies.
• Engage in professional development and collaborate with staff to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required.
• Current licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in outpatient and pediatric settings.
