Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience required.

Certifications/Requirements

Applicants must possess a valid State of Hawaii Nurse Aide Certificate, demonstrating knowledge in the following areas:

• Basic nursing skills, including taking vital signs and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
• The aging process and patient rights
• Infection control and universal precautions
• Body mechanics and first aid
• Activities of daily living, such as feeding, bathing, and dressing
• Restorative care practices, including the use of assistive devices and bowel and bladder training
• Basic medical and nursing terminology

Job Description

This position is situated in a day health center and requires the delivery of direct care to clients within the facility. Responsibilities include offering supportive, therapeutic, and recreational activities that enhance the well-being of the clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to clients, ensuring dignity and respect.
• Facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities tailored to individual client needs.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding client care and activities.
• Assist in the observation and monitoring of clients’ health status, reporting any changes as necessary.
• Support clients in activities of daily living, promoting independence and comfort.
