Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg/Telemetry

Job Description

A reputable healthcare organization is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med/Surg/Telemetry. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment, contributing positively to patient outcomes and team effectiveness.

Schedule

• 3×12-hour night shifts
• 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekends and holidays are required

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population, including individuals with cardiac conditions, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal issues, general surgery needs, and orthopedic cases.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of RNs, LPNs, PCTs, CNAs, and unit secretaries to ensure optimal patient care.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6, ensuring individualized attention and support for each patient.
• May be required to float to similar or lower acuity units based on patient census.
• Administer and manage medication infusions such as insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips safely and effectively.
• Provide care for IMCU patients when necessary, based on unit census.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
• A valid North Carolina or compact nursing license must be held at the time of submission.
• Required certifications: CPI, ACLS, and BLS.
• Previous experience with Meditech is preferred.

Team Environment

The nursing team operates within a 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit, working collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced setting.
