Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Level 2 trauma center. This role involves providing exceptional healthcare services in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The RN will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and triage patients effectively.
• Manage critical care situations, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Provide care for ventilated patients and assist with various emergency procedures.
• Utilize equipment including ultrasound, bladder scanners, and tele-neurology systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records (EHR) including Omnicell and EPIC.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS/BLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC (CPI preferred)
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a non-trauma emergency department setting.
• Skills: Proficient in the management of dysrhythmias, triage processes, and care for a variety of age groups.

Unit Information

The Emergency Department features 4 critical care bays and serves a diverse patient population. The unit is equipped for various emergency treatments and offers teleneurology services in collaboration with a leading hospital.

Work Schedule

This position requires working 10:45 AM to 11:15 PM, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Flexibility regarding weekend shifts is necessary, and travelers may be required to float to holding areas as needed.

Dress Code

Scrubs should be navy blue.
