Registered Nurse (RN) – Psych Geriatric

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in psychiatric care, specifically focused on geriatric patients. This position requires a compassionate individual who is committed to providing high-quality mental health care to elderly patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and care for geriatric patients with psychiatric conditions.
• Administer medications and monitor patient reactions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing; geriatric psych experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• SECURE or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification preferred.

Schedule

This position involves a shift rotation of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with scheduled work on every other weekend and holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.
