Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I) / Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) for a float pool position. This role involves providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients across various units, including acute care, long-term care, and rehabilitation settings. Candidates will be required to float between units based on patient needs and staffing requirements.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3×12 hours, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is mandatory

Job Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and meals
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ health status
• Support the nursing team in delivering quality patient care
• Float across various units, including ICU, LTAC, LTC, Medical-Surgical, Behavioral Health, and Rehabilitation
• Participate in orientation and training across multiple units to ensure versatility and adaptability

Qualifications

• Active CNA I certification required
• Two years of experience as a GNA required
• Current CPR certification (AHA BLS) required
• Candidates must be able to float to meet facility needs and be skilled in diverse patient care settings

Additional Information

This position requires providing care to a diverse population, including patients with complex medical needs. Candidates will receive 24 hours of orientation across multiple units to facilitate effective adaptation to different care environments.

Time Off Policy

• Requests for time off during holiday weeks will not be pre-approved
• Every other holiday off is required; specific holidays cannot be guaranteed
• Up to 14 days of time off may be pre-approved outside of designated blackout dates
