Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/Tele

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a stepdown unit, specializing in cardiac and telemetry care. The role requires expertise in managing post-procedural patients and providing comprehensive care to individuals with various cardiac conditions.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights (12-hour shifts)
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week (36-hour option available)

Unit Information

• Unit Size: 29 beds
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:4 during the day shift and 1:5-6 during the night shift
• Common Patient Diagnoses:
  • Cardiac medical and surgical cases
  • Post-catheterization procedures (e.g., stent, pacemaker, ICD)
  • Post-cardiac surgeries (e.g., CABG, valve replacements)
  • Conditions such as Afib, chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and syncope

Responsibilities

• Administering medications and managing drips as needed (e.g., Nitroglycerin, Heparin, Diltiazem)
• Monitoring and interpreting patient telemetry
• Providing patient education and support
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment
• Experience with post-procedural cardiac patients and managing TR band compression devices
• Must possess current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)

Additional Information

• Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling based on unit needs
• Orientation includes one shift of HR onboarding and one shift on the unit
• Nurse aides are available to assist with patient care
