CT Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in a fast-paced environment. The position requires expertise in performing a variety of CT procedures with a strong emphasis on patient care and safety.

Essential Job Details

• Approximately 200 exams performed daily.
• Work Setting: Inpatient, Emergency Room, Adult ICU.
• Units available: 4 rooms for scanning.
• Contract duration: 13 weeks or longer.
• Weekly service hours: 36 hours may be offered.
• Shift Type: Night shifts, 12 hours (Friday to Sunday, 18:00 – 06:30).
• Weekend Requirement: Friday to Sunday shifts are mandatory.
• Holidays: Must be available to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays.
• No call or float requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in CT imaging with travel experience. First-time travelers are not accepted.
• Skills: Must possess experience with IV starts, PACS, and contrast studies. Proficiency required in CT procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, and CT angiograms (CTAs).
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and ARRT certifications. CT registration is mandatory for ARRT-certified candidates.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in outpatient settings, including Level I Trauma and NICU.
• Experience with biopsies, brain perfusion, and multiplanar reconstruction is highly valued.

Equipment and Systems

• Equipment: Familiarity with Siemens scanners is required.
• Software: Proficiency in EPIC and Visage PACS is preferred.

Orientation and Scheduling

• Orientation will be determined by the CT Supervisor’s discretion.
• The supervisor will manage the scheduling based on unit needs.

Additional Requirements

• Travelers must provide their own dosimetry equipment; any brand is acceptable, although the unit uses Landauer brand dosimeters.
• Scrubs: Royal blue is the required color.

Patient Care

The CT Technologist will work with patients of all ages in a busy emergency department, providing routine CT exams for both stable and critically ill patients. Excellent patient communication and care are essential for success in this role.
