Technologist – Technician

Shift Details

Schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts, variable days. Standard working hours are from 0600 to 1630.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Washington State Registration
• Active BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
• Successful completion of the Operating Room Anesthesia Tech training program within the first 90 days of employment.

Job Functions

• Support anesthesia care providers during invasive monitoring, vascular procedures, and regional anesthesia techniques.
• Assemble supplies and equipment as needed for various procedures.
• Assist in the transport of patients to Recovery/ICU, including preparing oxygen sources and transport monitors.
• Disassemble, decontaminate, and prepare anesthetic and monitoring equipment and accessories, ensuring adherence to infection control principles.
• Assist with patient laboratory tests and the collection of test results.
• Provide assistance to care providers in the identification and checkout of blood products.
• Participate in the education of staff regarding new physiological equipment, procedures, and supplies.
• Assist with the placement of arterial lines, central venous pressure (CVP) lines, and pulmonary artery (PA) catheters, ensuring aseptic technique is utilized.
• Set up, calibrate, and verify the functionality of anesthesia machines and various monitoring devices.
• Assist with airway management and ensure readiness of necessary equipment such as rapid sequence and cricoid pressure devices.
• Perform ACT analysis, intra-aortic balloon (IAB) pump procedures, and glucose testing, while ensuring the functioning and maintenance of involved machinery.
• Demonstrate familiarity with various cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and related cardiac calculations.
• Identify and set up pre-mixed pharmaceutical solutions and infusion pumps.
