Medical-Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical-Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in adult and geriatric patient care, particularly in neurology and stroke management.

Position Details

• Shift: 3×12 hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirements: 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week period and participation in holiday rotation.
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Floating Requirements: Yes, candidates may need to float within scope to meet facility needs or between similar units.

Unit Overview

The unit consists of 23 beds dedicated to General Neurology, Medical Stroke, and Epilepsy Monitoring. The team provides care for patients with various neurological conditions, including but not limited to Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and seizures. The unit supports specialized programs for Comprehensive Spine and Epilepsy Centers.

Qualifications

• Required Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in a related field.
• Licensure: A valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license is required.
• Certifications Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

Additional Information

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season from June through November, all personnel may be assigned to emergency response teams. It is recommended that travelers refrain from confirming new or extended assignments during this period.
