Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the MS/Tele unit. This position entails providing exceptional patient care, particularly for patients undergoing surgery in various specialties including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, and orthopedics/spine.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize IV skills and telemetry monitoring to administer care to patients.
• Participate in self-scheduling based on unit needs and input from nursing management.
• Engage in block scheduling requests reviewed by the unit manager on a case-by-case basis.
• Float to other units as necessary and work weekends on an every-other-weekend rotation.

Shift Details

Hours available: 36 or 48 hours per week. This position requires working 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.

Orientation & Training

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation program that lasts 36 hours to ensure a smooth transition to the unit.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry is essential.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Candidates with travel experience are welcomed, and first-time travelers may also apply.
• Local candidates are accepted, with potential for a rate difference.

Patient Population

The focus of patient care will be on surgical patients, encompassing a variety of specialties.

Unit Systems

The unit utilizes systems such as Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC for effective patient management and communication.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.

Dress Code

Scrubs are not provided; employees are required to wear navy blue or white scrubs.
