Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatrics

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our pediatric team. This role involves providing care primarily to medical-surgical patients and those in hematology/oncology settings, catering to ages 0-17.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and perform associated nursing duties.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize unit systems, including PYXIS and EPIC, for medication management and documentation.
• Participate in self-scheduling to align shifts with personal availability.
• Engage in effective communication using the SBAR tool for patient updates.
• Float as needed to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• First-time travelers with 2 years of experience will be considered.
• Current certifications in BCLS and PALS are mandatory.
• Experience with IV starts and lab draws is preferred.
• Previous experience in chemotherapy administration and relevant certification is highly regarded.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 12-hour nights, from 18:45 to 07:15.
• 36 hours can be offered per week.
• Every other weekend commitment is required.
• 7 days maximum requested time off (RTO) allowed for auto offers.

Orientation and Miscellaneous

• 24-hour unit orientation is provided.
• Hospital orientation will take place in the first week, requiring daily availability for training sessions.
• Scrubs are not provided; must wear fun kid tops and navy pants.
