Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological conditions while demonstrating strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: 3x12s, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirement: May be every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes
• Local Candidates: Locals accepted, subject to radius rule criteria
• Pending License: Accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills

• Previous neuro experience at a large Level 1 or Level 2 facility
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Experience with central and peripheral line care, including accessing/managing ports, arterial line, and PICC line management
• Administration of continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Management of cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) and acute stroke care
• Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD) and lumbar drains
• Ability to assist with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, neurosurgery, complex spine, and other neuro-specific diagnoses
• Special Procedures: EVDs and therapeutic thermoregulation
• Floating: Will be required to float within skill set
