ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Scheduling Details

Shift Hours: 3x12s, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Call Off Policy: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks

Charting

Experience with EPIC charting is required.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills

• Previous neuro experience in a large Level 1/Level 2 facility
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with rapid response and code teams
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Management of ports, arterial lines, and PICC lines
• Administration of continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Neuro-specific skills including CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD) care, hypothermia protocol, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, and post-craniotomy care
• Respiratory management skills, including BiPAP/CPAP support and care for ventilated patients

Unit Details

• Ratios: 1:2
• Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, neurosurgery, and complex spine conditions
• Special Procedures: EVDs and therapeutic thermoregulation
• Floating: Required to float within skill set
