Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, including those with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in the IMCU, focusing on neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including monitoring vital signs and patient responses.
• Utilize specialty equipment, such as temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and BiPAP machines.
• Provide support for patients on chronic ventilation, collaborating with respiratory therapy specialists as needed.
• Document patient care and progress using Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
• Participate in patient care planning and treatment evaluations with the healthcare team.
• Float to different units as required and assist in meeting overall healthcare service goals.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 64
• Designated Neuro Beds: 15
• Patient Demographics: Adult patients aged 18 years and older
• Common Diagnoses: COPD, DKA, Sepsis, Myocardial Infarction, postoperative recovery, and critical care stepdown

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IMCU or PCU settings.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Active RN license in New York and any additional relevant licenses.
• Completion of a skills checklist that matches the nursing specialty.
• Ability to provide documentation of prior travel experience, if applicable.

Shift Details

• Shift Hours: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
