Imaging Support Interventional Radiology Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Imaging Support Technician to join our team in the Interventional Radiology (IR) department. This is a 13-week contract position with the potential for later start dates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vascular interventional radiology and demonstrate the ability to work independently within a dynamic OR environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in case preparation by pulling inventory and ordering cases in EPIC prior to procedures.
• Operate imaging equipment and controls during procedures.
• Perform 3D spins and utilize fusion technology as needed.
• Engage actively in the procedure, including filming and processing imaging studies.
• Document and manage inventory utilized during the case using HI-IQ software.
• Collaborate effectively with vascular surgeons, the OR team, and other procedural staff.
• Support simple surgical cases with a C-arm during downtime, including procedures like Impella insertion and cystoscopy.

Qualifications

• BLS and ARRT certification are required.
• A valid Virginia license is necessary; candidates may submit with the license pending and can be eligible for temporary licensure if licensed in another state.
• Strong experience in vascular and interventional radiology is essential.
• Familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures is a plus.
• Must be comfortable being actively involved in the entire case workflow.

Schedule

• Days: 5×8-hour shifts or 4×10-hour shifts available.
• Shifts: 07:30 to 16:00 or 06:30 to 17:00.
• Rotating on-call every fourth week.
