Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will have experience in caring for a diverse patient population, including adolescents through geriatrics, and will be well-versed in managing various medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU level patients, including neuro/stroke and cardiac conditions.
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips while monitoring patients continuously via telemetry.
• Utilize electronic health record systems, including Epic, to maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team using SBAR for effective communication.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and comply with all nursing best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH are required.
• Ability to float within the facility and work with various patient populations as needed.
• No block scheduling; flexible availability is necessary, including working every other weekend.
• Expected to work major holidays as per scheduling requirements.

Work Environment

• Work on a 36-bed PCU floor with an average daily census of 30 patients.
• Staff-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to ensure focused patient care.
• Scrub color is navy blue.
• Compliance with full onboarding requirements is mandatory for timely start.

Schedule

This position requires working 3 twelve-hour shifts, daytime hours from 07:00 to 19:30. A maximum of 7 days for requests time off (RTO) is allowed, with specific blackout dates during the Spring Break period.
