Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing a variety of obstetric emergencies and will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients throughout their labor and delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage labor induction and oversee labor and delivery for patients 14 weeks and above pregnant.
• Provide care for patients with various conditions including, but not limited to, IUFDs, preeclampsia, and postpartum hemorrhages.
• Circulate in the OR and assist with C-sections.
• Administer multiple IV drips including Pitocin, magnesium, and insulin.
• Perform epidural administration and monitor patients during recovery.
• Utilize skills in triage effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Must have EPIC experience.
• Ability to recover C-sections is required.
• Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP.
• Willingness to float within Women’s Services as needed.
• Availability to work every other weekend.

Work Environment

• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2, with a total of 21 rooms/beds.
• Work schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• The unit will accept contracts for 13 weeks, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week.
• No block scheduling is guaranteed.
• Orientation includes 2 days of unit training and a half-day for OR familiarity.

Special Procedures and Equipment

• Engage in various special procedures including epidurals, nitrous oxide administration, and amnio infusions.
• Familiarity with equipment such as epidural pumps, PCAs, Alaris pumps, and fluid warmers is essential.

Scrubs will be provided for the duration of your employment. Please be aware that the dress code stipulates only natural hair colors.
