Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Position Overview

The Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor will provide comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. The role involves offering counseling and support to individuals facing a range of mental health challenges while ensuring high standards of care and compliance with relevant standards and practices.

Shift and Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Patient Census

The average daily patient census is approximately 8 patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and initial evaluations to determine patient needs.
• Develop plans of care, problem lists, and patient goals in collaboration with patients and their families.
• Provide family therapy, group therapy, and individual counseling, including marriage and parental counseling.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies and develop discharge and contingency planning.
• Coordinate care collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and make appropriate referrals to additional resources.
• Document plans of care, patient responses, and provide education to patients and caregivers.
• Possess knowledge of Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, and guardianship processes.
• Address substance use concerns as well as suicide, homicide, and self-harm risk.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of counseling or behavioral health experience is required.
• Outpatient clinic experience is mandatory.
• Experience in Level I trauma care is required; Level II trauma experience is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure are required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C) and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) certifications are preferred.
• Acceptance of first-time professionals in the field.

Time Off Policies

• Automatically approved time off for less than 14 days.
• Mandatory availability during every other winter and summer holiday; no time off requests will be approved during these periods.
• Restriction on time off during peak days such as Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.
