Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift Information

Nights from 7 PM to 7 AM with additional on-call responsibilities required.

Minimum Years of Experience

3 years of critical care nursing experience.

Certifications/Requirements

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS/BCLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Job Overview

This role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to a variety of critically ill patients. The unit specializes in managing post-surgical cases, post-cardiac catheterizations including post PCI, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis), AKI (Acute Kidney Injury), and unstable arrhythmias.

Essential Responsibilities

• Initiation, titration, and management of vasopressors, thrombolytics, antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and sedation.
• Management of ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation.
• Implementation of sepsis management protocols.
• Central line, arterial line, and chest tube management.
• Administration of blood products.

• BiPAP/CPAP
• High-flow nasal cannula
• Bladder scanner

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• Critical Care: 2:1
• Step Down: 4:1
• Standard: 6:1

Additional Information

Candidates must possess the ability to float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, Step-Down, and Observation units as needed.

Availability for holiday coverage is also required.
