Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Job Overview

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in the preparation and maintenance of sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for surgical procedures. Under the supervision of Sterile Processing Specialists, you will assist in various team lead duties while ensuring compliance with established safety and quality protocols.

Shift Details

• Shift Time: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekend Schedule: To be determined by the facility

Responsibilities

• Care, handle, and store surgical instruments and supplies.
• Process goods for redistribution within the healthcare setting.
• Assist with maintaining team competencies and operational efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• Active certification from HSPA for at least 2 years.
• Flu vaccination is mandatory; declinations are not accepted.
• COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory; declinations are not accepted.
• Open to working varied schedules as determined by the facility.
• Previous travel experience is preferred.

Certification Requirements

• Candidates must hold an active HSPA certification (IAHCSMM) for at least 2 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

• One supervisory reference from the last 6 months and one from the last 12 months.
• Completion of a skills checklist specific to Sterile Processing Technician duties.
