Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Care unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort while delivering care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient management.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist with the orientation and training of new staff as needed.
Shift Details
- Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
- Holidays: As needed
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
- Number of Beds: 44
- Staff Ratio: 1:5 (possibly 1:6 during peak times)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- At least 1 travel assignment is required.
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS required.
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred, but not necessary.
Additional Information
- Nurse Aides available on the unit to assist with patient care.
- May be required to float to different acute care units as needed.
- General orientation period is 1 week, with an additional 2 days for floor-specific training.
- Gated housing options are available near the unit.
