Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care team. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care within a high-acuity environment.

Position Requirements

  • Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Every other weekend required
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Information

The unit consists of 14 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts. The ideal candidate should have experience with a variety of patient conditions, including:

  • Diabetes Management
  • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Gastrointestinal Bleeds
  • Renal Failure and Dialysis
  • Post-Surgical Care
  • Wound Care
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
  • Alcohol Withdrawal (ETOH)
  • Psychiatric Care

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, actively participate in patient assessments, and develop treatment plans.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin.
  • Monitor patient conditions, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain strict adherence to patient safety and quality of care standards.
  • Engage with patients and families to provide education and support.
  • Facilitate a primary care nursing model, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
  • Rotate with permanent staff to maintain unit coverage.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting, with at least 1 travel assignment completed.
  • Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS.
  • ACLS certification preferred.
  • Experience required in a similar hospital setting with high acuity and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety, satisfaction, and quality care.
  • Must be able to handle patient assignments effectively, including managing potential overflow conditions.

  • Attendance Policy: Strict adherence required.
  • Nail Policy: Only polished nails are permitted; artificial nails or shellac are not allowed due to infection control protocols.
