Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Telemetry

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Telemetry unit. This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within a dynamic healthcare setting that is focused on delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with cardiac conditions.
• Utilize telemetry equipment to monitor patients’ heart rhythms and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and cardiac drips as per established protocols.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience in a telemetry or step-down unit is preferred.
• Must possess ACLS, BCLS, and NIH certifications.
• Strong skills in interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Willingness to float to other units as needed.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Availability to work a minimum of 8 weekend shifts.

Patient Diagnoses:

• Cardiac Arrhythmias
• Myocardial Infarction (MI)
• Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
• Uncontrolled Diabetes
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Heart Failure
• Post-procedural care (e.g., post heart catheterization, post PPM, post ICD)

Unit Details:

• Staff-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Average daily census: 23
• Teamwork and collaboration are essential; no charge nurses on unit.
• 3-day orientation program, including EPIC training and unit-specific procedures.
• Scrubs: Navy or white.
