Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in cardiac telemetry and be comfortable working in a fast-paced unit that involves monitoring various cardiac conditions.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intermediate Care (IMC), or Stepdown nursing
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Job Details

• Shift: 3×12 hours (18:45 – 07:15)
• Contract lengths available from 13 to 26 weeks
• Float as needed within units
• Weekend shifts required (5-6 over a 6 week scheduling period)
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5-6

Responsibilities

The Cardiac Telemetry RN will be responsible for the following:

• Monitoring patients with cardiac conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and Pacemaker/ICD implantations
• Managing pre/post-operative care for cardiac catheterization patients
• Administering and monitoring cardiac drips, including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and Diltiazem
• Performing sheath pulls, TR band applications, and Femstop procedures

Orientation and Training

All new staff will undergo a 24-hour orientation to ensure proper training and integration into the unit.

Additional Information

• All contract staff will be expected to participate in Storm and Hurricane Teams as needed.
• Staff may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters.
• Uniform: Navy scrubs required.
