Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) plays a critical role in coordinating comprehensive nursing care for patients. This position involves active participation in patient and family education, providing leadership, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure the highest standard of professional nursing practice in a clinical setting.

The Registered Nurse recognizes the individuality of each patient and is committed to delivering quality nursing care, which includes mutual goal setting between the nurse and the patient. Responsibilities include safeguarding patient rights and privacy while being accountable to ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients in the emergency department.
• Engage actively in teaching patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
• Work collaboratively with ancillary nursing and healthcare teams to enhance patient care.
• Ensure adherence to professional nursing practices in accordance with established standards.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory agency standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience (required).
• Certification in ACLS, PALS (or ENPC in place of PALS), TNCC, and BLS (AHA).
• Active Michigan state nursing license at the time of submission.

Work Schedule

• 36-hour work week guarantee.
• Weekend availability is required.
