Medical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with various medical conditions in a telemetry setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care to a diverse population with common diagnoses such as NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU issues, sepsis, and post-surgical patients.
• Utilize a team nursing approach, collaborating with licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress.
• Manage and monitor patients in a 24-bed unit with a focus on telemetry monitoring.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and care plans.
• Participate in unit activities that enhance the nursing practice and overall patient care.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Medical/Surgical & Telemetry (Acute Care) nursing.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
• Experience or knowledge in TURP procedures and CBI management is preferred.
• Comfortable with IV starts and basic telemetry monitoring.
• Experience in Critical Access or Trauma Level 3 or 4 settings is an asset.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts (0700-1900 & 1900-0700).
• Rotational weekend coverage every other week, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
• Availability to work during holidays as needed.
• Floating to like units and patients is required.

Orientation

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation, including an initial computer education day followed by job shadowing and practical shifts to ensure comfort and familiarity with unit practices.
