Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves providing exceptional care to patients in a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg unit, which includes scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and additional medical overflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring high standards of care and patient safety.
• Perform neuro assessments and interpret telemetry strips efficiently.
• Manage patient care in a fast-paced environment with a clinician to patient ratio of 1:4 during day and evening shifts, and 1:5 or 6 during night shifts.
• Float to applicable units as needed during staffing adjustments.
• Utilize the EMR system, specifically EPIC, for accurate documentation of patient information and care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a single location.
• At least 2 years of experience as a travel nurse.
• Must possess a current Massachusetts RN License.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Strong telemetry competency with the ability to interpret telemetry strips.

Schedule

This position requires rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, with every other weekend (EOW) commitment. Day rotators may be required to work various shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) as needed.

Patient Population

The primary patient population includes orthopedic and neurosurgical patients, fractures, neuro patients, and overflow from other medical units.
